blackbear is built by xavi group llc ("we", "us", "our"). We believe your notes are yours — not ours, not anyone else's. This policy explains what data we collect, what we don't, and why.

The Short Version

We don't read your notes. We can't. blackbear stores everything on your device. We have no access to your content unless you explicitly opt into cloud sync. We collect the minimum data necessary to sell you the software and provide support. We don't sell your information to anyone.

What We Collect

When you visit blackbear.app

Our website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking. Server logs may record your IP address and browser type for security purposes; these logs are rotated and deleted within 30 days.

When you purchase blackbear

Payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address and payment confirmation. We do not receive or store your credit card number, CVV, or full billing details. We use your email to:

When you use blackbear

The app itself collects no data. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, no usage tracking. Your notes, journal entries, tasks, calendar events, tags, templates, and settings all live on your device. We never see them.

If you use cloud sync

If you subscribe to our optional cloud sync service ($0.99/month), your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Sync data is stored solely to provide the sync service. We do not access, read, or analyze your synced content.

You can cancel sync and request deletion of all synced data at any time. We will delete your data from our servers within 30 days of your request. Your local copy remains untouched.

Data Retention

We retain your email address and license information for the lifetime of your license (perpetual) to provide support and updates. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. blackbear is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
